Setting a Man Free from Femdom
Rasa Breaks Through for a Devotee
Have been struggling for a devotee the last few days and undergoing such
pain that I have been having trouble feeling the Presence of God, which
means utter misery and dejection for me, as the ORIGIN OF ALL PAIN IS
SEPARATION FROM GOD.
This pain was alleviated today when I had a dream about a devotee, and I
understood many things in it and knew I was suffering for him. But once I
have the dream regarding the suffering, means the pain has done its work,
and we have broke through in vision.
Preamble to dream: I see a Dante like person at the edge of a wilderness
woods, and I do not want him to go there, and it is like I am with him, but
stop him and me from entering. (This is the wilderness of purgatorial pain,
and I do not want my devotee to go there any more.)
DREAM: I am at my aunt/uncle's house (pain) with a woman, her husband and
their daughter. We are working on audio tapes when one of them gets loose,
and all you have to do is turn it to get it back in on the spoon, but the
husband instead wants to get on this small train, go miles away to fix it.
I go with him in spite of the fact that it is illogical, and when we are far
away I decide I am going to embrace him and give him a deep kiss. I make
sure we are private before I try.
He is standing at an entranceway between the cars, and I come up to him, put
my arms around him and try to give him this wonderful intimate kiss, but
then I see that not only is his entire body covered by a beige suede
(leather) but even his mouth, so the kiss does not work, and the feeling
from him is one of indifference or coldness, and he says by way of
explanation,
'You are not very good looking.'
I resist this telling him that when I doll myself up, I look like Jayne
Mansfield.
Earlier I had a dream about this same person, and we were on a bed. He
showed me his penis, which was a sort of square flat shape, and I touched
it. We were going to have wonderful sex, even though I am celibate, but I
noticed I was bleeding a fair amount. Perhaps it had diminished, and I had
to go remove my blood stained kotex before we could have sex - which I do
not see us having.
MEANING OF DREAM:
When I awoke I instantly saw, in vision, the meaning of this dream, and it
carries so much with it, and solves what is wrong with my devotee, why he
cannot have intimacy with ME/GOD. (As the Guru I carry God's Power and I
transmit it to my devotees, so it is not me in the flesh who wants to kiss
him, but God)
The key phrase of the dream is that 'you are not very good looking.'
This means that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and if one is not
beautiful to a person they do not fulfill their needs or expectations, while
the one who fulfills their needs or expectations is beautiful. So here lies
the secret of the dream, why the devotee cannot receive the SACRED KISS and
the INTIMACY (sex) with God/Guru, but instead, is covered by some sort of
layer of protection which prevents it, and also explains in the 'sex' scene
why he cannot have intimacy with God/Guru but WASTES her Light (bleeding),
the clue being the square penis. Imagine a square penis going into a
vagina? The corners of it would hurt, it would not move smoothly. The
square means BOXED or BOXED IN by limitation, something IS LIMITING THE ACT
OF INTIMACY.
Meanwhile, this devotee is running a hot and heavy relationship with his
domme, who obviously is BEAUTIFUL to him. Why beautiful? Because she is
stimulating him of course. Why does she stimulate him, but God can't?
There you have a mystery that has been solved here.
The devotee is STUCK in a lower plane of childhood when most probably his
Mom was not the benevolent, nurturing kind, but rather somewhat harsh,
punitive, domineering in a way not benevolent. In the child's mind this
sort of whip-cracking mother became the ICON of power, the one representing
resources and 'love' and so this enshrined icon now in his mind, is where he
gets stimulation. Therefore, when another woman, in this case a dome, pays
attention to him, she is the Power, she is the Icon, she is the one who
embodies that same ancient person, and she stimulates him.
This is a TRAP for the man enslaved by this icon, and I see him at the edge
of the purgatorial wilderness, ready to enter again, because this lower
level of stimulation is not real love but DELUSION of love, it is fake, it
will not last. When the domme gets tired of him, drops him, each time he
will go into POST TRAUMATIC STRESS and suffer its pangs.
Now how the domme controls him is by being not black, but grey, so that
sometimes she is good, sometimes bad. She hooks him in by attention and a
few kind words, which he likes, but she reinforces it by the harsh words
which hurt his dignity and self esteem, but sadly, these harsh words remind
him of Mommy Dearest and he is more trapped than ever. This woman has now
become the beautiful one because she stimulates even when she abuses, so
this is a trap, he is in bondage.
And now, when God comes to the devotee, God is not beautiful, because he is
stuck on this lower plane, and while there, he cannot enter the Kingdom of
Heaven, and receive the Sacred Kill or the deep intimacy of God, so to him,
in that state, GOD IS NOT VERY GOOD LOOKING.
I will not explain every detail of this dream here but in the next dream
book - do not want to take the time right now, but the basics here will get
our message done.
Let me give another analogy of what this dream is saying.
Suppose in a strip joint you have a bunch of lustful men sitting there
waiting to see naked women perform, and anticipating going home after that
and masturbating or laying their wife based on the stimulation received.
This is the level or plane the men are on, the level of lust, and if Jesus
Christ himself walked into that strip joint, with all his power, they would
disregard him or laugh at him. They are COVERED by their thick layer of
lust or they are unable to receive Jesus because their minds and hearts are
elsewhere, so Jesus cannot stimulate them, they cannot see his beauty, but
they can see the beauty of the naked women and the naked women are
stimulating them, because they are stuck on this lower level, they are
trapped in it. In order to get above and beyond their level, these men
would have to sacrifice lust, because right now the noble sacrifice of
Jesus, his martyrdom, his wounds, do not look attractive.
In the case of the man with his domme, who represents Mommy Dearest, the
domme figure is an icon that possesses his mind, filling him with guilt,
fear and excitement, and in his mind there is a delusion that this is the
one he must follow. He is entrapped and in bondage to this image. In order
to be free he must break this image in his mind, he must see that the love
proffered was not spiritual, Godly or conducive to life, it hurts and harms,
it does damage to his mind, heart and soul, where true spiritual love is
different. Dommes who control men for money do it for gain, and those who
practice the craft as 'amateurs' also do it for gain, some gain other than
cold cash, it is a matter of controlling a person by their weak points,
their needs, and holding them hostage. This is not love but a form of
abuse, because true love sets the captive free. It is like giving drug to a
druggie, alcohol to an alcoholic or sweet words to the vain, you get the
point. Health is elsewhere.
What the Guru does is set the captive free by showing him the Truth, and it
is his decision if he will fight for his freedom.

Have been struggling for a devotee the last few days and undergoing such
pain that I have been having trouble feeling the Presence of God, which
means utter misery and dejection for me, as the ORIGIN OF ALL PAIN IS
SEPARATION FROM GOD.
This pain was alleviated today when I had a dream about a devotee, and I
understood many things in it and knew I was suffering for him. But once I
have the dream regarding the suffering, means the pain has done its work,
and we have broke through in vision.
Preamble to dream: I see a Dante like person at the edge of a wilderness
woods, and I do not want him to go there, and it is like I am with him, but
stop him and me from entering. (This is the wilderness of purgatorial pain,
and I do not want my devotee to go there any more.)
DREAM: I am at my aunt/uncle's house (pain) with a woman, her husband and
their daughter. We are working on audio tapes when one of them gets loose,
and all you have to do is turn it to get it back in on the spoon, but the
husband instead wants to get on this small train, go miles away to fix it.
I go with him in spite of the fact that it is illogical, and when we are far
away I decide I am going to embrace him and give him a deep kiss. I make
sure we are private before I try.
He is standing at an entranceway between the cars, and I come up to him, put
my arms around him and try to give him this wonderful intimate kiss, but
then I see that not only is his entire body covered by a beige suede
(leather) but even his mouth, so the kiss does not work, and the feeling
from him is one of indifference or coldness, and he says by way of
explanation,
'You are not very good looking.'
I resist this telling him that when I doll myself up, I look like Jayne
Mansfield.
Earlier I had a dream about this same person, and we were on a bed. He
showed me his penis, which was a sort of square flat shape, and I touched
it. We were going to have wonderful sex, even though I am celibate, but I
noticed I was bleeding a fair amount. Perhaps it had diminished, and I had
to go remove my blood stained kotex before we could have sex - which I do
not see us having.
MEANING OF DREAM:
When I awoke I instantly saw, in vision, the meaning of this dream, and it
carries so much with it, and solves what is wrong with my devotee, why he
cannot have intimacy with ME/GOD. (As the Guru I carry God's Power and I
transmit it to my devotees, so it is not me in the flesh who wants to kiss
him, but God)
The key phrase of the dream is that 'you are not very good looking.'
This means that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and if one is not
beautiful to a person they do not fulfill their needs or expectations, while
the one who fulfills their needs or expectations is beautiful. So here lies
the secret of the dream, why the devotee cannot receive the SACRED KISS and
the INTIMACY (sex) with God/Guru, but instead, is covered by some sort of
layer of protection which prevents it, and also explains in the 'sex' scene
why he cannot have intimacy with God/Guru but WASTES her Light (bleeding),
the clue being the square penis. Imagine a square penis going into a
vagina? The corners of it would hurt, it would not move smoothly. The
square means BOXED or BOXED IN by limitation, something IS LIMITING THE ACT
OF INTIMACY.
Meanwhile, this devotee is running a hot and heavy relationship with his
domme, who obviously is BEAUTIFUL to him. Why beautiful? Because she is
stimulating him of course. Why does she stimulate him, but God can't?
There you have a mystery that has been solved here.
The devotee is STUCK in a lower plane of childhood when most probably his
Mom was not the benevolent, nurturing kind, but rather somewhat harsh,
punitive, domineering in a way not benevolent. In the child's mind this
sort of whip-cracking mother became the ICON of power, the one representing
resources and 'love' and so this enshrined icon now in his mind, is where he
gets stimulation. Therefore, when another woman, in this case a dome, pays
attention to him, she is the Power, she is the Icon, she is the one who
embodies that same ancient person, and she stimulates him.
This is a TRAP for the man enslaved by this icon, and I see him at the edge
of the purgatorial wilderness, ready to enter again, because this lower
level of stimulation is not real love but DELUSION of love, it is fake, it
will not last. When the domme gets tired of him, drops him, each time he
will go into POST TRAUMATIC STRESS and suffer its pangs.
Now how the domme controls him is by being not black, but grey, so that
sometimes she is good, sometimes bad. She hooks him in by attention and a
few kind words, which he likes, but she reinforces it by the harsh words
which hurt his dignity and self esteem, but sadly, these harsh words remind
him of Mommy Dearest and he is more trapped than ever. This woman has now
become the beautiful one because she stimulates even when she abuses, so
this is a trap, he is in bondage.
And now, when God comes to the devotee, God is not beautiful, because he is
stuck on this lower plane, and while there, he cannot enter the Kingdom of
Heaven, and receive the Sacred Kill or the deep intimacy of God, so to him,
in that state, GOD IS NOT VERY GOOD LOOKING.
I will not explain every detail of this dream here but in the next dream
book - do not want to take the time right now, but the basics here will get
our message done.
Let me give another analogy of what this dream is saying.
Suppose in a strip joint you have a bunch of lustful men sitting there
waiting to see naked women perform, and anticipating going home after that
and masturbating or laying their wife based on the stimulation received.
This is the level or plane the men are on, the level of lust, and if Jesus
Christ himself walked into that strip joint, with all his power, they would
disregard him or laugh at him. They are COVERED by their thick layer of
lust or they are unable to receive Jesus because their minds and hearts are
elsewhere, so Jesus cannot stimulate them, they cannot see his beauty, but
they can see the beauty of the naked women and the naked women are
stimulating them, because they are stuck on this lower level, they are
trapped in it. In order to get above and beyond their level, these men
would have to sacrifice lust, because right now the noble sacrifice of
Jesus, his martyrdom, his wounds, do not look attractive.
In the case of the man with his domme, who represents Mommy Dearest, the
domme figure is an icon that possesses his mind, filling him with guilt,
fear and excitement, and in his mind there is a delusion that this is the
one he must follow. He is entrapped and in bondage to this image. In order
to be free he must break this image in his mind, he must see that the love
proffered was not spiritual, Godly or conducive to life, it hurts and harms,
it does damage to his mind, heart and soul, where true spiritual love is
different. Dommes who control men for money do it for gain, and those who
practice the craft as 'amateurs' also do it for gain, some gain other than
cold cash, it is a matter of controlling a person by their weak points,
their needs, and holding them hostage. This is not love but a form of
abuse, because true love sets the captive free. It is like giving drug to a
druggie, alcohol to an alcoholic or sweet words to the vain, you get the
point. Health is elsewhere.
What the Guru does is set the captive free by showing him the Truth, and it
is his decision if he will fight for his freedom.

I noticed William and Beata's discussion regarding women not getting along.
Ok, so let me just tell you my straight out feelings. I have worked for
female empowerment most of my life and have succeeded on a few levels. I
did things that galvanized women, gave women a template, stirred them up,
freed them up, whatever, I did much and will continue doing work till the
day I die.
Now I am not the sort women like because they are threatened by me, envy
competitiveness to them are factors. They do not want to work with me
because I am a Leader and they do not accept women leaders, in short, THEY
do not get along with a strong, outstanding woman and it is their problem,
not mine. I will continue with or without them, and without them has never
hindered my work so far.
I do not have to work with other women to get my work done, like close
buddies, nor do I have to sleep with them. All I have to do is set an
example, be a strong powerful woman who fights patriarchy and destroys its
concepts, its assumptions. This is done by all kinds of work; education,
proselytizing, defeating lies, just being out there in the gender wars and
winning. This I can do and few women ever help - Beata and Suzy Q have been
the only women who helped me in fighting.
What I have come to realize is that what I do I can do alone or I can do it
with males and females, so far most of my best helpers have been males, to
wit, William Bond and Thomas Andrews, and other devotees and friends like
PB, Rick, Achim, Mike Trotman, appear then disappear, appear again to help.
I can do it any way the chips fall, either alone totally or with friends.
It's more fun with friends, but this is not mandatory as I look over my
life. Key figures enter the picture, assist me here and there and go away,
and it always gets done.
Now as far as male or female, I will tell you straight out, I look at the
SPIRIT, not the flesh. Yes, eventually it will be a women world, but right
now it isn't. I can't find women who have the panache to fight for
matriarchy, I can find men quicker. These men have the spirit of
matriarchy.
I do not expect the men mentioned to be doormats or slaves, without will,
without dignity and autonomy. They are created by God as individuals and
have to answer to God for what they do. Frankly, I do not want to be their
dominatrix. I would not mind being in some cases their spiritual leader or
spiritual partner. As spiritual leader, I am capable of guiding these men
for their own benefit, with great love, and the same as friend, we share
with love. The love part is extremely important. I will not be their
fetish queen, someone else can do that, I don't have time.
The way I see it, myself working with William and Thomas, is that we are on
the same page, we share beliefs, it is all for one and one for all. We even
made an agreement on that. These men are intelligent and self motivated and
they donot need to by my zombies, God, if they were it would be miserable. I
want them to be happy wherever they are, support and affirm them, and I want
them to do the same for me and do what they can for the Cause.
Again, William, I do not see the woman issue as you do. You keep saying if
women don't stick together and pull the cart together we may as well forget
it. They can't and we won't. They will not cut the mustard together for a
long time, yet we will get there, through more time than we would like.
The problem is, women are so screwed up for so many generations of
submission and domestication, they can't do what we want them to, stick
together and fight.
Here is an example. I had 6 geese, 2 female and 4 male. Once in a while I
took them into the woods to the pond, but they rarely went without me. But
this semi domestic white big guy goose came over and seduced one of the
females and took her to the pond, and then river. She was never seen again.
He came back and hounded the other males to go into the woods with him, and
eventually they all went out there because there were wild female geese out
there, and they thought it would be great.
All summer my domestic grey geese hung out with the wild geese and their
babies, having the time of their lives. But then autumn came, and it got
colder. The wild geese and their babies all flew away.
One of my females did not like it in the woods and she returned home. Now
she is my pet and stays closer than ever to me and I take care of her and
she wants to be petted like a dog.
I kept going into the woods to see my beloved geese, but month after month
one by one, they disappeared, they perished.
Now this is what happens to those who are domesticated - they lose the
abilities of the wild, they get fatter and their wings atrophy, and they
cannot go south, and they cannot fly away from the coyotes and fox, so they
are in great danger in the wild.
Yes, domestic geese were domesticated so we could use them for food. Woman
have been domesticated for use in serial pregnancies, sex and domestic
duties, and this went on for thousands of years.
Now you are asking these domesticated, weakened women to suddenly rise up
against their oppressors, and stand up to them and become independent. And
also, these women who have competed for men and resources are suddenly
supposed to buddy up and defeat men - right.
Now women like myself are an ANOMALY. How many women are like me or
Emmeline Pankhurst? Women like this are about one in 100,000 or less, maybe
one in millions. Pankhurst had better luck than I have with women
followers, but then, she was a respectable member of society and not as
controversial as I. I am the pariah, and that is why women will not join
me. They don't want to be spit on and wear the crown of thorns I do. Not
all women get followers or work with other women, some do what they do
alone. But women have followed my EXAMPLE. Look at the bodybuilding
situation which they finally admit I am the founder of.
Now women are the domestic geese and they do not have the ability I have, it
is as simple as that. If they went into the wilderness they would perish,
so they fear, and the fear stops them from action. Fear paralyzes, fear
makes one unable.
I have less fear because I am Anointed by God, so that is my secret weapon,
so I do what I do under the strength of that.
To sum up, women probably will not help me until I become completely
successful, but I will keep going ahead. Most women will not do great
things, for a while. They will do small things, like getting their degrees,
and bit by bit they will move ahead and in a few generations, many more
women will do great things.
What we wish would happen RIGHT NOW, William, will take a few generations.
Women will not follow one another until they see that women indeed are
controlling society, they are in all the high places, and their idea of
women will change and they will see what side their bread is buttered on.
Right now they look at another woman and they see a slave,
'She's just like me, fighting to get the resources men have.'
And so there is little respect, but they claw each other's eyes out for men,
they are sneaky and will be giving your husband or boyfriend sex to get him
away from you. Also, on groups, when women attacked me, they wanted me off
the podium, they resented the respect I summoned, but once rid of me, they
could not take my place. So they just do not want to see another woman's
head held high, they want to knock women out of high places even if there
are no women there, they hate women getting respect they don't have
themselves.
So what am I going to do? Frankly, I am a bit fed up with trying to
cultivate women to my side, I am just going to work with who I have and
continue to promote the books, and somehow, some way I will get back into
the media and preach our cause. If no woman helps me it will not hinder me
one bit.

freed them up, whatever, I did much and will continue doing work till the
day I die.
Now I am not the sort women like because they are threatened by me, envy
competitiveness to them are factors. They do not want to work with me
because I am a Leader and they do not accept women leaders, in short, THEY
do not get along with a strong, outstanding woman and it is their problem,
not mine. I will continue with or without them, and without them has never
hindered my work so far.
I do not have to work with other women to get my work done, like close
buddies, nor do I have to sleep with them. All I have to do is set an
example, be a strong powerful woman who fights patriarchy and destroys its
concepts, its assumptions. This is done by all kinds of work; education,
proselytizing, defeating lies, just being out there in the gender wars and
winning. This I can do and few women ever help - Beata and Suzy Q have been
the only women who helped me in fighting.
What I have come to realize is that what I do I can do alone or I can do it
with males and females, so far most of my best helpers have been males, to
wit, William Bond and Thomas Andrews, and other devotees and friends like
PB, Rick, Achim, Mike Trotman, appear then disappear, appear again to help.
I can do it any way the chips fall, either alone totally or with friends.
It's more fun with friends, but this is not mandatory as I look over my
life. Key figures enter the picture, assist me here and there and go away,
and it always gets done.
Now as far as male or female, I will tell you straight out, I look at the
SPIRIT, not the flesh. Yes, eventually it will be a women world, but right
now it isn't. I can't find women who have the panache to fight for
matriarchy, I can find men quicker. These men have the spirit of
matriarchy.
I do not expect the men mentioned to be doormats or slaves, without will,
without dignity and autonomy. They are created by God as individuals and
have to answer to God for what they do. Frankly, I do not want to be their
dominatrix. I would not mind being in some cases their spiritual leader or
spiritual partner. As spiritual leader, I am capable of guiding these men
for their own benefit, with great love, and the same as friend, we share
with love. The love part is extremely important. I will not be their
fetish queen, someone else can do that, I don't have time.
The way I see it, myself working with William and Thomas, is that we are on
the same page, we share beliefs, it is all for one and one for all. We even
made an agreement on that. These men are intelligent and self motivated and
they donot need to by my zombies, God, if they were it would be miserable. I
want them to be happy wherever they are, support and affirm them, and I want
them to do the same for me and do what they can for the Cause.
Again, William, I do not see the woman issue as you do. You keep saying if
women don't stick together and pull the cart together we may as well forget
it. They can't and we won't. They will not cut the mustard together for a
long time, yet we will get there, through more time than we would like.
The problem is, women are so screwed up for so many generations of
submission and domestication, they can't do what we want them to, stick
together and fight.
Here is an example. I had 6 geese, 2 female and 4 male. Once in a while I
took them into the woods to the pond, but they rarely went without me. But
this semi domestic white big guy goose came over and seduced one of the
females and took her to the pond, and then river. She was never seen again.
He came back and hounded the other males to go into the woods with him, and
eventually they all went out there because there were wild female geese out
there, and they thought it would be great.
All summer my domestic grey geese hung out with the wild geese and their
babies, having the time of their lives. But then autumn came, and it got
colder. The wild geese and their babies all flew away.
One of my females did not like it in the woods and she returned home. Now
she is my pet and stays closer than ever to me and I take care of her and
she wants to be petted like a dog.
I kept going into the woods to see my beloved geese, but month after month
one by one, they disappeared, they perished.
Now this is what happens to those who are domesticated - they lose the
abilities of the wild, they get fatter and their wings atrophy, and they
cannot go south, and they cannot fly away from the coyotes and fox, so they
are in great danger in the wild.
Yes, domestic geese were domesticated so we could use them for food. Woman
have been domesticated for use in serial pregnancies, sex and domestic
duties, and this went on for thousands of years.
Now you are asking these domesticated, weakened women to suddenly rise up
against their oppressors, and stand up to them and become independent. And
also, these women who have competed for men and resources are suddenly
supposed to buddy up and defeat men - right.
Now women like myself are an ANOMALY. How many women are like me or
Emmeline Pankhurst? Women like this are about one in 100,000 or less, maybe
one in millions. Pankhurst had better luck than I have with women
followers, but then, she was a respectable member of society and not as
controversial as I. I am the pariah, and that is why women will not join
me. They don't want to be spit on and wear the crown of thorns I do. Not
all women get followers or work with other women, some do what they do
alone. But women have followed my EXAMPLE. Look at the bodybuilding
situation which they finally admit I am the founder of.
Now women are the domestic geese and they do not have the ability I have, it
is as simple as that. If they went into the wilderness they would perish,
so they fear, and the fear stops them from action. Fear paralyzes, fear
makes one unable.
I have less fear because I am Anointed by God, so that is my secret weapon,
so I do what I do under the strength of that.
To sum up, women probably will not help me until I become completely
successful, but I will keep going ahead. Most women will not do great
things, for a while. They will do small things, like getting their degrees,
and bit by bit they will move ahead and in a few generations, many more
women will do great things.
What we wish would happen RIGHT NOW, William, will take a few generations.
Women will not follow one another until they see that women indeed are
controlling society, they are in all the high places, and their idea of
women will change and they will see what side their bread is buttered on.
Right now they look at another woman and they see a slave,
'She's just like me, fighting to get the resources men have.'
And so there is little respect, but they claw each other's eyes out for men,
they are sneaky and will be giving your husband or boyfriend sex to get him
away from you. Also, on groups, when women attacked me, they wanted me off
the podium, they resented the respect I summoned, but once rid of me, they
could not take my place. So they just do not want to see another woman's
head held high, they want to knock women out of high places even if there
are no women there, they hate women getting respect they don't have
themselves.
So what am I going to do? Frankly, I am a bit fed up with trying to
cultivate women to my side, I am just going to work with who I have and
continue to promote the books, and somehow, some way I will get back into
the media and preach our cause. If no woman helps me it will not hinder me
one bit.

I like your post, this is interesting...Indeed sex is simply part of
biological life and unless one does harm by it, it is benign, unless one
hurts someone by it, it certainly is not immoral. Tell that to the
patriarchal churches, those with the double standard and who want to control

What happens is that when elevated souls have ecstatic dreams or visions,
where God appears as form and makes love to them, or the two beings have
what appears to be 'sex' - because we live in a patriarchy that has caused
people to be obsessed, hysterical, repressed and therefore projecting, they
have a negative reaction to these experiences - and they ridicule saints who
have them. Of course you know I speak from experience. In ecstatic dreams,
as all dreams, it is the mind that creates the dream, to indicate what has
happened or is happening, and the mind in the case of an ecstatic dreams
shows the transmission of grace from God to the soul or person, and this is
seen as a 'sex act' but in reality it is the transmission of grace, simply a
metaphor, symbol or parallel.
In the 'Song of Songs' there is the great poetry of the soul's union with
God under the metaphor of love, lovemaking, sex. These type of experiences
are considered the highest form of closeness to God by those 'in the know.'

The first book starts out with the story of a 'flame war' where Rasa battles

How Did the Guru Get to be Guru and Avatar and What Can I learn From This?
You might say if I am an Avatar, I was born that way and needn't do a thing,
the Power just oozes through my pores and God fills me up every day like a
big reservoir and I should just dole it out to everyone. Hahaha.
How many Avatars have you know? You know Jesus Christ. He was God
Incarnate, an Avatar, the Form of God, and so was his Holy Mother. Now did
Jesus have an easy, cushiony life? Did He walk the earth impervious to
pain, criticism and threats? If an Avatar just oozes grace and has to do
nothing, why did He go into the desert to starve and thirst for 40 days and
40 nights, this in preparation for his ministry? Because Avatars have the
POTENTIAL, because they reached the Sahasrara in another lifetime (many of
my devotees have!) and they volunteered to return to earth and help
humanity. God told me there are thousands of them on earth at any given
time, but due to the hardship of life and the cold-heartedness, ingratitude
and meanness of people, most of them fold up and never manifest their
identity, they just sink into the flesh or stay on a plateau, not venturing
forth among the rabble, (the hardest thing for a spiritual person is to be
with people of the world) and you never hear from them.
Each and every Avatar, say Jesus, Krishna and Buddha, and many others you
might not know as Avatars, suffer immensely, even going through martyrdom,
(which can be emotional/mental rather than physical.) When I read the life
of the contemporary Ramakrishna he was in such despair at one point he told
Kali he was going to drive a sword through himself if She did not reveal
Herself to him.
People such as myself, who have a great Anointing, do not have it easy, and
in some ways, much harder. Yes, we are potentially stronger, but that
strength is not realized until we are tested. It is by our daily tests,
decisions and behavior that determines if we move ahead, stay stagnant, or
fall behind. Meet our tests, which are always virtue in the face of
temptation, generosity in the face of being greedy and stingy, and bravery
in the face of fright, and we move ahead. Then grace and Power increase,
and our path is opened wider. But if we make the wrong decision in the face
of hardship, we do not go forward and either stagnate or fall behind.
Sometimes we are even punished, yes, I have been punished severely for my
sins, and you will too.
Let me give a list of sins devotees commit.
1 One of the greatest transgressions of devotees is their
stinginess. Many of them cry poverty, because they do not have a good job
and are barely making ends meet, or are dependent on other people. This is
many of them. Now their fortunes change, and they get a really good job or
an inheritance, and when that happens they give nothing at all. That proves
they were deluding themselves when they said they would give if they had the
money. No matter how poor you are, you should give a tiny bit, even one
dollar a month. That is what my new rules says, and if you do not fulfill
it or asking for absolution, you will be cut off.
2 Lack of respect and gratitude, admitting that I am your
Guru publicly, to the world. Those who do show gratitude, and this is most
of them, do so only in private. Hardly any of them are willing WITH THEIR
REAL NAME to stand up for me and tell the world I am their Guru and they are
getting benefits from me. This is like being Nicodemus, who secretly, at
night, snuck over to Jesus to ask him about the Kingdom of God, and he is
the one Our Lord told,
'You must be born again.'
There are exceptions to these. They are few and here they are: Rick Hodge
(he is PROUD of having his name and identity up there!), Mike Trotman,
Thomas Andrews, Kathleen Otley, Steven Grube, Philip Jackson, Sergio Daneri,
Tony Stark and Helmut Mestel - others have given me their full names but I
only use their first names and cannot recall if they allowed their last
names to be used. They are: Maureen, Kevin, Errol, and the rest USE FAKE
NAMES. So about a dozen people allow their real names used, while the rest
want to hide, always for fear of others. Fear, so much fear, which keeps us
from growth.
3 Attitude, more than anything caps it off, is attitude.
If you look at your Guru as just somebody who is around, a figurehead, a
woman who is there but I don't have to relate to her in any way but maybe
argue about her posts, then that shows no love and no recognition for the
God that is within the Guru, the God that will reach you and fill you with
the Anointing, the God that has great power, through this vessal, including
healing and miracles. To access this power, you have to DO SOMETHING, it
does not flow to you automatically and at all times. I used to think it did
but then I noticed this. When I ask my devotees for a favor, such as
posting my articles, and they refuse, suddenly, all their dreams stop. Then
when I forgive them the dreams start up again! I saw this with Kun Kin and
others. That showed me that I control the Anointing and its flow, whether I
am consciously aware of it. If I am mad or disappointed to the point of
wanting to punish the devotee, the flow of grace stops going to them. I
recall seeing a kirlian photography result, which showed two people standing
next to each other. In one case, they liked each other, and you saw the
flow of energy moving toward each other, but in a case, where someone
disliked the other person, you saw the flow of energy gong in a circle and
moving away from the one not liked! This amazed me and now I know that I
control the healing and the shakti by approving or disapproving the devotee!
And I do not have to pray, it is done by my decision and feelings. When you
ask me for healing and are a sincere devotee, the Anointing automatically
flows to you, but if you are out of favor, it will not flow.

Meaning of the Guru, About Avatars
So many salient thoughts about the Guru-devotee relationship are touching my
heart and there is so much devotees need to learn. Let me begin. I will put
it into a question/answer form:
Q 1 What is a Guru? Particularly, what is MY Guru TO ME?
A YOUR Guru, the One God gave you that you have met on earth, is the one
GOD WORKS THROUGH FOR YOUR BENEFIT. Everyone needs some sort of touch in
time and space, and this is it. You might just imagine that your
relationship with God is of no need for an earthly link, think again. Think
of your failures and your dire needs, for which you seek all sorts of
remedies of the earth. You need help, because everyone needs help until
they get there, to where YOUR GURU IS AT. Now from that lofty place in the
mystical realm, your Guru channels Power for you from the Gifts that she
has, the Anointing.
Q 2 How do I know that this Guru is the right one for me? Why not another
one someplace in India or Tibet or somewhere else?
A The grass is always greener far away, isn't it? You know your Guru is
right for you because YOU HAVE MET HER and you related to her, and she spoke
with you and is willing to help you. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?
Q 3 What must I do to access the power of the Guru? Is she there like a
wish-fulfilling cow, and I just have to milk her like a 'cash cow?' (Lol)
Is she there like a Christmas tree, and I just have to bend down and pick up
the gifts under the tree? Is she there like a well, that I visit, put my
pitcher in and draw water? In other words, by simply contacting her, do I
get her power automatically, telling her my problems and needs, in fact,
even without contacting her, it is said that THE GURU KNOWS MY NEEDS AND
ANSWERS ME WITHOUT PHYSICAL CONTACT. Is this true?
A It is true to some degree, but also, after you meet some obligations. Now
when you first meet your Guru, she gives you freely and absolutely with no
strings attached, you do not have to give her anything. That of course
depends on the Guru, but this one asks for nothing ahead of time, some Gurus
demand Prasad (a gift, however small) when you arrive - that is their
decision. There is nothing wrong with demanding a gift first, it will weed
out a large number of phonies - but it might also prevent the weak, the
doubting and the very poor from giving it a chance, so GuruRasa wants to
take the safest way of helping everyone so she asks for nothing. The
problem is, after the devotees get the initial Shakti Kundalini, (Holy
Spirit Power) the Teachings, the Guidance and they are to some degree
strengthened or enlivened, they do not remember the Guru in their giving.
They fail to reciprocate, not knowing that they must give back, however
little. They take the Power for granted with no gratitude, with no show of
return at all. This is why the Guru MUST REMIND the devotees periodically
that THEY MUST GIVE BACK.
Q 4 It does not seem fair to me that I have to give back. After all, it is
God that gave to me, not a physical person, because God lives in the Guru
and works through her. God does not charge Rasa, so Rasa should not charge
me, not even a small token, because that token is a lot of trouble. After
all, writing letters, mailing them, takes time and energy, even if it is a
token donation. She is putting me to some trouble, and I don't like it.
Not only that, I am feeling fine. Yes, she did help me months ago, but now
I am feeling great, and so, why should I go to the trouble of sitting down,
writing and addressing her a letter, and sending her a minimum token
donation?
A What a devotee does not understand is although you DO NOT FEEL the
Anointing going out to you, there is a REAL, VISIBLE, TANGIBLE POWER that is
going to you on a regular basis, WHEN YOU NEED IT.
Note~! Of course, I have noticed, that devotees, when they sink into the
flesh, into DISOBEDIENCE and try and lead a secretive life IN SIN, away,
they think, from the eyes of the Guru, they sink deeper into the mire of
darkness and error, falling and falling lower into mortal sense and its
misery. At times like this, the Guru seems FAR AWAY, NONEXISTENT, but it is
BECAUSE THE DEVOTEE LEFT THROUGH DISOBEDIENCE, TURNING HIS OR HER BACK ON
THE GURU.
Consider, also, the initial Power you received from the Guru when you first
met. This power ENABLED you to get better, to do better in every way, and
you are benefiting from her work.
Q 5 Did the Guru actually pay for the Anointing, or was it given freely?
After all, it is said,
'Freely you have received, freely you should give.'
A The Guru PAID for the Anointing that she has because no person will ever
receive a monumental Gift like that without first EARNING it, which means
she WORKED and SUFFERED for it. Of course, when she, as an innocent child
(or in times of disability, times of being flat out), first started out, she
had nothing to give, and grace was freely given. As one gets stronger,
something is expected, and grace does not always come without a price tag,
the price being suffering, hardship and the merits of giving; giving work,
surrendering, practicing virtues, making sacrifices and so forth. If a
person MERELY COASTS ON THE GRACE FREELY GIVEN ITS KARMA RUNS OUT, AND THERE
IS NO MORE, AND THE PERSON ENTERS INTO A TIME OF STAGNATION AND THIS MIGHT
EVEN LEAD TO A TIME OF LOSING GRACE AND DESOLATION, AS GRACE IS SOMETHING
ONE MUST WORK AT CONSTANTLY.
A OK, perhaps I have failed, but why? I think I am being fairly good, I
haven't done anything terrible. Why am I not stronger and better, though?
A You lack zeal, you lack gratitude, and you have sloth or laziness in the
spiritual life. People are so deluded when they think overt physical sins
like stealing and killing are the only things that separate them from God.
For the just or the righteous, it gets much more stringent. (Ordinary
people, btw, who never do 'big' sins as those mentioned, nevertheless, tread
the broad highway to Hell, simply going along with the rest of the world
until the iron bars close all around them, imprisoning them in Hell, and
then the flames come up, forever incarcerating them in woe and misery.)
When we speak of you, the devotee, we speak of ONE WHO WANTS TO IMPROVE AND
COME CLOSER TO GOD, IN FACT, TO BECOME A SAINT IN PERFECT UNION WITH GOD.
This requires an exacting discipline, it is not easily won.
Q 6 Then what exactly does this giving of mine signify? Surely the Guru is
not in dire need of that token donation of mine, the Guru is not desperate,
is she?
A The Guru is not desperate, it is you who is in desperate need of
exercising your charity, your will power, your discipline in the spiritual
life. It is hard to tether and train the flesh; it takes some 'violence'
against nature, and your human nature, which is selfish and slothful, works
against you. When you give in to nature, the instincts, the flesh, you
become weaker and weaker spiritually. (I must add here, this does not apply
to animals at all, animals suffer terribly especially within the world of
people, and they just by living, suffer greatly, just to feed themselves and
protect themselves against the elements and against predators. Most humans
have no inkling of that kind of suffering, certainly not those in a
'civilized' society, although there are countries where they do suffer as
badly as do animals.) IF YOU DO NOTHING AGAINST THE FLESH, AND DO NOT
EXERCISE YOUR WILL POWER, THE FLESH WILL DRAG YOU DOWN AND YOU WILL REMAIN
IN THE LOWEST CHAKRAS, FILLED WITH MISERY. You think giving into the flesh
is the easy way out, but it is the hard way, eventually, because doom will
come upon you for giving into it.
Q 7 OK, I do understand and agree with you, GuruRasa, but I am doing well
now and I just want to get on with my life. Why can't I just move on? It's
not that I don't love you, I do, but I want to think about others, like my
significant other and other people I like, and you helped me once, but why
do I have to remember you all the time?
A You do not have to remember me all the time - ONLY IF YOU WANT MY POWER
TO CONTINUE BEING DOWNLOADED INTO YOU. If you feel you have outgrown what I
have to give and need no more of it, by all means, move on and God bless
you. But knowing human nature, and most people, I know that you need this
power. I also know you are UNAWARE of where you are receiving some of the
good luck, grace, Power and Light that is streaming into you when you need
it. By cutting it off, you will see the difference, and perhaps then you
will value this Power.
YOU NEED TO VALUE THIS POWER THAT I AM GIVING YOU, YOU NEED TO APPRECIATE
IT, BE GRATEFUL, AND RECIPROCATE WITH MORE THAN OCCASIONAL SWEET WORDS.
Q 8 You sound like my mother now, nagging me. I guess you are my spiritual
mother, and frankly, I don't like it. I don't feel free.
A Fine, then. Be free. Be free now to give in to your cold heartedness,
which will lead to sins and then vices, and then you will either have a long
Purgatory or even Hell. Is that what you want? Because that is what will
happen.
I have watched my devotees sink into the quagmire when they separated
themselves from me, it is inevitable.
Q 9 Again, I do not think you are being fair, for after all, I have my
personal relationship with God, and you are saying that if I break off with
you, I am breaking off with God? I still do my regular shtick with God, I
pray, and I go to church, even, so how am I leaving God?
A I have heard that one before. It is the devotee who is deluding himself,
I have seen it again and again. He deludes himself he is right with God by
saying about 60 seconds worth of prayer when he needs help, and he even goes
to church, and yet, he is falling into sin all the while and getting deeper
into his pride and ego.
You must understand that when you have a Guru, you have no choice but to
obey the Guru, or you will pay the price, because THIS IS THE WAY GOD
HERSELF ARRANGED IT FOR YOU. Perhaps this is hard to understand, but try
and believe, that when God reaches you through Form, a Guru, WHAT YOU DO TO
THE GURU YOU DO TO GOD, for God resides in the Guru waiting to see what you
will do to Her if She was made Flesh, and what you do to Her, believe me,
you do to God.
Ignore the Guru, you ignore God.
Be ungrateful to the Guru, you are ungrateful to God.
Disobey the Guru, you disobey God. (This includes keeping secrets about your
dirty
'love life.' But by the same token, when you treat your Guru well, YOU DO
THE SAME FOR GOD.
Q 10 Frankly, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I don't think I am
receiving anything from you. I think it was my own faith that helped me in
the beginning, when you helped me, and I think it has been my own faith that
helped me all along, and I don't think I am actually receiving anything from
you, and so, I do not want to be put to the trouble of sending you a note or
letter once a month, with a token donation or a request if I cannot afford
the dollar, that you continue sending your Power. It is such a bother to me
and I am not going to do it.
A OK, if you are receiving nothing then it will not bother you at all that
by the end of three weeks, those devotees who have heard my rules and do not
comply, all Power and Light that I am sending them will be truncated. You
may not feel anything tangible, as in your physical senses, but it may show
up in your dreams or if you are sensitive, it may touch your inner senses,
otherwise you might not be aware of this. The date for the cutoff will be
April 25, 2007, about three weeks from now, which gives everyone ample
warning.
Now about faith, indeed, your faith did help at all times and is always
needed in the relationship with God and Guru, but your faith alone is not
sufficient, there has to be a God or Guru to download or extend the grace
into you! Faith is how you open your mind and heart to God and Guru, but
God and Guru has the Power and the Grace! Of the flesh, no matter how much
faith you have, you can do nothing.
Discipline is Good for the Soul
I know what it is, my devotees are like humans everywhere, from before the
time of Jesus until now, the flesh is weak. Without discipline, and that
includes rebukes, humans go astray quickly. How many of you enjoy the
discipline of the following:
1 Going on a strict diet and losing weight
2 Stop your addictions to prescription or street drugs, to cigarettes and
excessive alcohol
3 Exercise every day! Jog, lift weights, stretch, bike ride, go to the
gym, etc.
4 Pray and read spiritual books
5 Refrain from excessive sexual fantasies and such things as pornography,
masturbation or sex outside of marriage
This is a short list of things you could discipline yourselves on, and check
off which of these you have trouble with, I bet more than one, women
included. This shows that you are SOFT, if you have trouble with three or
more of these things, and it proves you need to curb your appetites and
tighten up your discipline.
Now anyone who comes along and rebukes you along these lines, harasses you
or requests something of you that you do not want to do, then you are
resentful. These feelings come from PRIDE and EGO, not from the good part
of you.
As your Guru, I need to discipline you, at the very least reminding you of
the True Life of spirituality and God, and that life MAKES SACRIFICES,
humbles oneself, accepts life as it is without excessive desires for
cushions and luxuries, forgives others, even your enemies (yes, I do love my
enemies and forgive them all, including all the flame wars...people were
born again, rose to a higher level, when my shakti went to them in battle),
struggles daily against sin and vice and toward virtue. Are you doing so?
That is my word to you for now, and I will not grieve which way you go, for
I have to say this to you and if you leave, you will learn your lesson, and
if you stay you will be blessed, so either way, something good will come out
of it.
A WORD ABOUT BEING AN AVATAR
Some of my devotees believe I am an Avatar, an Incarnation of God, but
others doubt this as they believe that Avatars are rare, such as Jesus
Christ, Lord Krishna and Buddha, and so they think it is highly unlikely
that Rasa or anyone they know could be such. I have prayed on this and this
is what God said to me,
'I send many Avatars to earth, at all times, but they do not fulfill their
destiny, because each one receives a human nature, which is so dull, and so
filled with delusion and sloth, that many of these chosen souls give in to
the lower nature and forget their great destiny. An Avatar is not forced in
any way to meet his or her destiny as a Great Soul, but only by intense
struggle does such a person meet their great destiny. They who became known
suffered immensely, and they are the famous ones that you know, but you do
not know the less famous ones, and you certainly do not know the ones that
failed.'

it into a question/answer form:
Q 1 What is a Guru? Particularly, what is MY Guru TO ME?
A YOUR Guru, the One God gave you that you have met on earth, is the one
GOD WORKS THROUGH FOR YOUR BENEFIT. Everyone needs some sort of touch in
time and space, and this is it. You might just imagine that your
relationship with God is of no need for an earthly link, think again. Think
of your failures and your dire needs, for which you seek all sorts of
remedies of the earth. You need help, because everyone needs help until
they get there, to where YOUR GURU IS AT. Now from that lofty place in the
mystical realm, your Guru channels Power for you from the Gifts that she
has, the Anointing.
Q 2 How do I know that this Guru is the right one for me? Why not another
one someplace in India or Tibet or somewhere else?
A The grass is always greener far away, isn't it? You know your Guru is
right for you because YOU HAVE MET HER and you related to her, and she spoke
with you and is willing to help you. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?
Q 3 What must I do to access the power of the Guru? Is she there like a
wish-fulfilling cow, and I just have to milk her like a 'cash cow?' (Lol)
Is she there like a Christmas tree, and I just have to bend down and pick up
the gifts under the tree? Is she there like a well, that I visit, put my
pitcher in and draw water? In other words, by simply contacting her, do I
get her power automatically, telling her my problems and needs, in fact,
even without contacting her, it is said that THE GURU KNOWS MY NEEDS AND
ANSWERS ME WITHOUT PHYSICAL CONTACT. Is this true?
A It is true to some degree, but also, after you meet some obligations. Now
when you first meet your Guru, she gives you freely and absolutely with no
strings attached, you do not have to give her anything. That of course
depends on the Guru, but this one asks for nothing ahead of time, some Gurus
demand Prasad (a gift, however small) when you arrive - that is their
decision. There is nothing wrong with demanding a gift first, it will weed
out a large number of phonies - but it might also prevent the weak, the
doubting and the very poor from giving it a chance, so GuruRasa wants to
take the safest way of helping everyone so she asks for nothing. The
problem is, after the devotees get the initial Shakti Kundalini, (Holy
Spirit Power) the Teachings, the Guidance and they are to some degree
strengthened or enlivened, they do not remember the Guru in their giving.
They fail to reciprocate, not knowing that they must give back, however
little. They take the Power for granted with no gratitude, with no show of
return at all. This is why the Guru MUST REMIND the devotees periodically
that THEY MUST GIVE BACK.
Q 4 It does not seem fair to me that I have to give back. After all, it is
God that gave to me, not a physical person, because God lives in the Guru
and works through her. God does not charge Rasa, so Rasa should not charge
me, not even a small token, because that token is a lot of trouble. After
all, writing letters, mailing them, takes time and energy, even if it is a
token donation. She is putting me to some trouble, and I don't like it.
Not only that, I am feeling fine. Yes, she did help me months ago, but now
I am feeling great, and so, why should I go to the trouble of sitting down,
writing and addressing her a letter, and sending her a minimum token
donation?
A What a devotee does not understand is although you DO NOT FEEL the
Anointing going out to you, there is a REAL, VISIBLE, TANGIBLE POWER that is
going to you on a regular basis, WHEN YOU NEED IT.
Note~! Of course, I have noticed, that devotees, when they sink into the
flesh, into DISOBEDIENCE and try and lead a secretive life IN SIN, away,
they think, from the eyes of the Guru, they sink deeper into the mire of
darkness and error, falling and falling lower into mortal sense and its
misery. At times like this, the Guru seems FAR AWAY, NONEXISTENT, but it is
BECAUSE THE DEVOTEE LEFT THROUGH DISOBEDIENCE, TURNING HIS OR HER BACK ON
THE GURU.
Consider, also, the initial Power you received from the Guru when you first
met. This power ENABLED you to get better, to do better in every way, and
you are benefiting from her work.
Q 5 Did the Guru actually pay for the Anointing, or was it given freely?
After all, it is said,
'Freely you have received, freely you should give.'
A The Guru PAID for the Anointing that she has because no person will ever
receive a monumental Gift like that without first EARNING it, which means
she WORKED and SUFFERED for it. Of course, when she, as an innocent child
(or in times of disability, times of being flat out), first started out, she
had nothing to give, and grace was freely given. As one gets stronger,
something is expected, and grace does not always come without a price tag,
the price being suffering, hardship and the merits of giving; giving work,
surrendering, practicing virtues, making sacrifices and so forth. If a
person MERELY COASTS ON THE GRACE FREELY GIVEN ITS KARMA RUNS OUT, AND THERE
IS NO MORE, AND THE PERSON ENTERS INTO A TIME OF STAGNATION AND THIS MIGHT
EVEN LEAD TO A TIME OF LOSING GRACE AND DESOLATION, AS GRACE IS SOMETHING
ONE MUST WORK AT CONSTANTLY.
A OK, perhaps I have failed, but why? I think I am being fairly good, I
haven't done anything terrible. Why am I not stronger and better, though?
A You lack zeal, you lack gratitude, and you have sloth or laziness in the
spiritual life. People are so deluded when they think overt physical sins
like stealing and killing are the only things that separate them from God.
For the just or the righteous, it gets much more stringent. (Ordinary
people, btw, who never do 'big' sins as those mentioned, nevertheless, tread
the broad highway to Hell, simply going along with the rest of the world
until the iron bars close all around them, imprisoning them in Hell, and
then the flames come up, forever incarcerating them in woe and misery.)
When we speak of you, the devotee, we speak of ONE WHO WANTS TO IMPROVE AND
COME CLOSER TO GOD, IN FACT, TO BECOME A SAINT IN PERFECT UNION WITH GOD.
This requires an exacting discipline, it is not easily won.
Q 6 Then what exactly does this giving of mine signify? Surely the Guru is
not in dire need of that token donation of mine, the Guru is not desperate,
is she?
A The Guru is not desperate, it is you who is in desperate need of
exercising your charity, your will power, your discipline in the spiritual
life. It is hard to tether and train the flesh; it takes some 'violence'
against nature, and your human nature, which is selfish and slothful, works
against you. When you give in to nature, the instincts, the flesh, you
become weaker and weaker spiritually. (I must add here, this does not apply
to animals at all, animals suffer terribly especially within the world of
people, and they just by living, suffer greatly, just to feed themselves and
protect themselves against the elements and against predators. Most humans
have no inkling of that kind of suffering, certainly not those in a
'civilized' society, although there are countries where they do suffer as
badly as do animals.) IF YOU DO NOTHING AGAINST THE FLESH, AND DO NOT
EXERCISE YOUR WILL POWER, THE FLESH WILL DRAG YOU DOWN AND YOU WILL REMAIN
IN THE LOWEST CHAKRAS, FILLED WITH MISERY. You think giving into the flesh
is the easy way out, but it is the hard way, eventually, because doom will
come upon you for giving into it.
Q 7 OK, I do understand and agree with you, GuruRasa, but I am doing well
now and I just want to get on with my life. Why can't I just move on? It's
not that I don't love you, I do, but I want to think about others, like my
significant other and other people I like, and you helped me once, but why
do I have to remember you all the time?
A You do not have to remember me all the time - ONLY IF YOU WANT MY POWER
TO CONTINUE BEING DOWNLOADED INTO YOU. If you feel you have outgrown what I
have to give and need no more of it, by all means, move on and God bless
you. But knowing human nature, and most people, I know that you need this
power. I also know you are UNAWARE of where you are receiving some of the
good luck, grace, Power and Light that is streaming into you when you need
it. By cutting it off, you will see the difference, and perhaps then you
will value this Power.
YOU NEED TO VALUE THIS POWER THAT I AM GIVING YOU, YOU NEED TO APPRECIATE
IT, BE GRATEFUL, AND RECIPROCATE WITH MORE THAN OCCASIONAL SWEET WORDS.
Q 8 You sound like my mother now, nagging me. I guess you are my spiritual
mother, and frankly, I don't like it. I don't feel free.
A Fine, then. Be free. Be free now to give in to your cold heartedness,
which will lead to sins and then vices, and then you will either have a long
Purgatory or even Hell. Is that what you want? Because that is what will
happen.

On a brisk fall evening in 1934, six thousand people jammed into the exotic
Shrine Auditorium, the largest and poshest theater in Los Angeles. The
crowds on this particular night had come to witness the only showing of a
spectacular religious pageant like nothing they had ever seen before. At
close to 9:00 p.m., the orchestra came to life, launching into a rendition
of patriotic songs. The curtains swung open and the show began. America's
"Pilgrim Fathers" stepped onto the stage to rousing applause. They reenacted
the landing of the Mayflower at Plymouth Rock and proclaimed the new
nation's foundation on conservative Christian ideals. The Founding Fathers
appeared next. They drew up the U.S. Constitution, a document "conceived in
prayer and executed by Christian gentlemen." The third scene featured
Abraham Lincoln on his knees in prayer, "seeking guidance of his God in the
times of national stress." Without a doubt, the Protestant God had blessed
the United States.
This harmonious vision of the United States' Christian past began to
disintegrate in the next few scenes, however, as subsequent generations of
Americans who spent too much time trying to be "modern" forgot "that God
founded this nation." They removed the Bible from schools, embraced the
concept of biological evolution, and, "determined to blot out the God who
had led and nurtured the United States," turned away from the "old-time"
religion. At this point in the spectacle the orchestra fell silent and a
hush stole over the capacity crowd. The audience tensed, as a sinister
villain, an atheist and a communist, appeared on the stage. He began his
diabolical work by tiptoeing up to an oversized dollar bill and, using a
hammer and chisel, chipped away the words "In God We Trust." Then he sneaked
over to a massive poster featuring the lines of the national anthem. He
reached down, grabbed a brush, and began splattering red paint across all
references to God. The stunned audience "gasped in horror" as the scoundrel
obliterated the ideas that had been "the very blood and body of our
nation-the very foundation upon which it has stood through the years."
RASA: IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THE AUTHOR IS SNEERING, LAUGHING AT THIS
DISPLAY OF LOVE FOR GOD AND COUNTRY. ALTHOUGH I HAVE DISAGREEMENTS WITH
RELIGION IN THE FORM OF PATRIARCHY AND MALE DOMINATION, THESE IDEALS,
EXAMINED HERE, ARE NOBLE AND RIGHTEOUS. SURELY YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE GOD AND
LOVE INSTEAD OF ATHEIST COMMUNISM AND MATERIALISM!
But he wasn't done yet. The curtains opened again for the climactic final
scene, revealing the villain's ultimate target-the United States Capitol.
Above the Capitol building flew an American flag, while below it stood the
"sturdy foundation stones" of "government, order, faith, and home." Miss
America was supposed to be protecting these cherished institutions, but she
had fallen asleep on the Capitol steps. The fiendish burglar laughed
disdainfully as he snatched the foundations of the nation right out from
under her. Then he replaced the flag with the red banner of communism. Just
when it appeared that the rogue had completely undermined the United States,
onto the stage stepped a stunning woman dressed entirely in white-Aimee
Semple McPherson. The crowd went wild, cheering and screaming for the
radiant cultural icon who had created this show.
McPherson smiled and bowed. Then, in her high-pitched, nasal, singsong
voice,
RASA: OH, HOW SUTTON WAXES ROUGHSHOD OVER AIMEE. SHE HAD WON MANY
ELOCUTION AND DEBATING AWARDS AND WAS FAMOUS FOR BEING ELOQUENT. LISTENING
TO THE OLD TAPES AND MOVIES YOU CAN HEAR A BEAUTIFUL, MELODIOUS VOICE,

US. APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE FOR ALL THAT WE HAVE ARE IN ORDER, AND
ALTHOUGH OUR COUNTRY, LIKE ALL COUNTRIES, IS FLAWED, IT COULD BE WORSE. LOOK
AT THE THIRD WORLD, LOOK AT CHINA AND INDIA, THE POVERTY, THE LACK OF HUMAN
RIGHTS, THE KILLING OF 40 MILLION GIRL BABIES IN INDIA AND 40 MILLION MORE

Responding to her cry, Uncle Sam jumped onto the stage. He sprinted forward
and grabbed the villain, issuing him a ticket back home-"a ticket back to
Red Russia, a ticket that will take him to the lands where the Stars and
Stripes do not wave." At the end of the scene, McPherson approached the
Capitol. With the entire audience cheering her on, she removed the
subversive's flag and returned Old Glory to its position atop the dome. The

Christian foundations of the nation were safe once more.

made McPherson one of the most famous American personalities of the interwar
years. The first religious celebrity of the mass media era, she mastered
print, radio, and film for use in her evangelical mission.
RASA: THAT, SHE DID. SHE USED ALL MEDIA FOR THE LORD. FIRST, HER CAR WAS
A VEHICLE AS FEW PEOPLE HAD THEM, AND IT HAD REVIVAL SLOGANS WRITTEN ALL
OVER IT. WITH A WOMAN PREACHER DRIVING THIS BIG CAR, SHE ATTRACTED A CROWD.
BUT THAT WASN'T ALL. SHE HAD A MANUAL TYPEWRITER WITH HER, ON THE ROAD,
WHERE SHE CRANKED OUT A REGULAR NEWSLETTER THAT REACHED THOUSANDS! ALL THIS
WHILE TOWING TWO LITTLE KIDS WITH HER, WITH NOT A GREAT DEAL OF HELP, BUT
SOME. FIRST HER HUSBAND HAROLD (WHO MANAGED THE TENT AMONG OTHER THINGS)
AND WHEN HE QUIT, HER MOM TRAVELLED WITH HER. (HER MOM, WHO GOT MARRIED TO
AN OVER 50 MAN AT 15, WAS NOT MUCH OLDER THAN AIMEE, AND LATER, TRIED TO
TAKE AIMEE'S CHURCH AWAY FROM HER, AND DID ALIENATE THE AFFECTION OF AIMEE'S
DAUGHTER AWAY.)
Her integration of the latest media tools with a conservative creed
established precedents for the twentieth century's most popular ministers,
from Billy Graham to Oral Roberts to Pat Robertson. Possibly more
significant, she brought conservative Protestantism back from the margins to
the mainstream of American culture, by arguing that Christians had an
obligation to fight for the issues they believed in and boldly proclaiming
that patriotism and faith were inseparable.
RASA: WHAT ARE YOU SAYING HERE, THAT ONE CANNOT LOVE THEIR COUNTRY AND
THEIR FAITH AT THE SAME TIME? ONE CAN APPRECIATE ONE'S COUNTRY, WITH ITS
FLAWS, AND EVEN BE A LOYAL DISSIDENT, FIGHTING FOR REFORM, AND ONE CAN
CERTAINLY BELIEVE OUR COUNTRY IS UNDER GOD AT THE SAME TIME...WHY IS THIS
WRONG?
Contemporary evangelical politicians from local school board members to
President George W. Bush are indebted to McPherson for convincing the
faithful that their citizenship in heaven did not nullify their citizenship
on earth, but rather that they should work for a more Christian nation.
RASA: AGAIN I SENSE THE SNEER OF SUTTON. TO COMPARE AIMEE TO BUSH AND OTHER
HYPOCRITES IS LIKE SAYING SHE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM, SHE WASN'T LIKE THEM
AT ALL, SHE WAS 100% HONEST ABOUT GOD AND LOVE.
THE VALUES OF GOOD CHRISTIANS ARE THE VALUES OF GOOD JEWS, MUSLIMS, HINDUS,
CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS, UNITY, WICCA, MOTHERGOD AND ALL THE REST. WHOM DO YOU
WANT TO LEAD THE COUNTRY AND WORLD, THOSE WHO HAVE NO SPIRITUAL OR RELIGIOUS
AFFILIATION NOR FAITH? WHAT DO YOU WANT AT THE HEAD OF THE COUNTRY,
MATERIALISTS AND ATHEISTS? IS THAT WHO YOU CAN TRUST?
LOOK, LET'S FACE IT, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PAT ROBERTSON AND RASA
VON WERDER, ALTHOUGH BOTH ARE RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL. PAT ROBERTSON
BELIEVES IN ONE RELIGION, ONE WAY OF FAITH, AND NO OTHER WAY, AND THIS WAY
SHOULD TAKE OVER OUR COUNTRY. BUT RASA VON WERDER BELIEVES IN A MOTHERGOD
WHO LOVES ALL, AND ALL THOSE WHO ARE TRUE CHRISTIANS DO NOT JUDGE AND
CONDEMN OTHER FAITHS, THEY, LIKE JESUS WITH THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD
SAMARITAN, LOVE ALL PEOPLE, ALL PEOPLE ARE GOD'S CHILDREN AND SHOULD BE
RESPECTED AND CARED FOR.
Finally, with her extraordinary religious fervor and theatricality,
McPherson helped shape one of the twentieth century's most explosive
religious movements-evangelicalism. And she did it, of all places, from just
outside Hollywood.
McPherson's religious revival caught the nation off guard. With rapid
urbanization, the discovery of new technologies, the perfecting of powerful
forms of mass media, the rise of the modern university system, and the
growth of a celebrity-centered culture, many Americans in the early
twentieth century predicted the extinction of classic evangelicalism. Yet
from her location in the burgeoning show business capital of the world,
McPherson changed the way American religion is practiced. She combined the
old-time faith, show biz sensibilities, marketing savvy, and passionate
Americanism to revive a seemingly dead movement.
RASA: I DON'T KNOW WHY HE CALLS IT SEEMINGLY DEAD. PENTOCOSTALS, THOSE WHO
BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, WERE ABUNDANT IN THIS ERA, AND TRAVELLED THE
UNITED STATES PREACHING AND DOING HEALINGS. THIS DID NOT DIE OUT UNTIL
KATHRYN KUHLMAN IN THE 70'S, BUT I AM PLANNING TO REVIVE IT.
Rather than wither away, evangelicalism, with its careful integration of
cutting-edge technology, American patriotism, and social conservatism, has
become one of the most influential forces in U.S. history.
Although many men and women from a variety of different traditions
contributed to the regeneration of evangelicalism, none compared with
McPherson. As the most famous minister in America during the interwar years,
she became the personification of the old-time religion, by transforming a
conservative religious creed into something as exciting as a swashbuckling
Hollywood adventure. Yet the rapid expansion of this culturally attuned
faith was not without its pitfalls, for McPherson constantly blurred the
boundary between the sacred and the profane. Many critics despised the
seeming irreverence of combining show business with an ancient creed.
RASA: THEY WERE JUST JEALOUS.
Others questioned the creation of all-powerful celebrity preachers who
marketed little more than their own personalities to the masses.
RASA: THAT WAS NOT AIMEE, SHE NEVER CLAIMED ANYTHING BUT JESUS CHRIST AS
THE POWER AND GAVE HIM ALL THE GLORY.
Still others who decried the mixing of faith and politics warned that the
First Amendment was under siege.
RASA: SHE WAS NOTHING LIKE PAT ROBERTSON, SHE LOVED EVERYONE AND GAVE FOOD
TO EVERYONE OF ALL FAITHS. YOU JUST HAD TO CALL HER CHURCH AND ASK FOR FOOD
AND NO QUESTIONS, A BOX WAS SENT TO YOUR HOUSE, WHEREAS PAT ROBERTSON IS A
BIG-TIME BUSINESSMAN WHO OWNS GOLD MINES IN AFRICA USING CHEAP LABOR, AND
USES HIS MONEY TO BANKROLL HIS MINISTRY WITH STRONG POLITICAL AMBITIONS.
AIMEE NEVER WANTED TO BE A POLITICIAN OR BIG SHOT POLITICAL LEADER, SHE JUST
WANTED TO FOLLOW THE WILL OF GOD, GET PEOPLE SAVED, HEALED AND FED.
And there was an even darker side to this evangelical culture, fueled by
McPherson and her allies' constant search for signs of the impending rise of
the Antichrist. Like the Puritans before them, they tended to interpret
daily events within the framework of a continuous cosmic struggle between
good and evil. Because they never knew when and where the devil might
strike, they remained very suspicious of "outsiders." Regardless of how
successful such believers became, they saw themselves as a besieged
minority, a faithful remnant, charged with holding back the forces of the
apocalypse. This ideological commitment, which kept them constantly on the
defensive,
RASA: THE WORLD IS 'THE CHURCH MILITANT,' A PLACE OF THE BATTLE OF GOOD VS.
EVIL, AND THE DEVIL DOES GO ABOUT 'LIKE A ROARING LION SEEKING WHOM HE MAY
DEVOUR' SO SHE WAS RIGHT. THESE DEMONS ARE IN HIGH PLACES, INCLUDING OUR
AND ALL GOVERNMENT, BIG BUSINESS, BIG CHURCHES AND ALL PLACES OF INFLUENCE,
AND THESE ARE MOSTLY PATRIARCHAL FORCES. HERE EVIL HAS SOLIDIFIED ITS CLAWS
IN DISCRIMINATION, EXPLOITATION, LYING, STEALING AND KILLING. WE LIVE IN A
WICKED WAR ECONOMY WHICH WANTS OVERPOPULATION IN ORDER TOHAVE A POWERFUL
MILITARY AND LOTS OF BODIES TO SEND OFF TO WAR, SO YES, WE DO HAVE TO LOOK
OUT FOR THE INTERESTS OF GOD AND LOVE. HERE SUTTON IS MAKING AIMEE SOUND
LIKE A PARANOID WEIRDO, BUT SHE WAS A LOGICAL AND EFFECTIVE WARRIOR FOR GOD.
fueled a nativist tendency that occasionally surfaced in damaging ways.
RASA: HE SHOULD EXPLAIN WHAT HE MEANS BY DAMAGING WAYS.
But the greatest controversy affecting McPherson centered not on her
religious innovations or her sporadic xenophobia but on her personal life.
When, at the peak of her fame, she became embroiled in what appeared to be a
major sex scandal, she nearly landed in jail. She discovered that the same
publicity tools that had helped her create a religious empire could just as
easily destroy her. Ultimately, however, she rebounded from the controversy
and returned to the national spotlight during World War II to solidify the
marriage between evangelicalism and patriotic politics.
On one level this is the story of the rise, fall, and redemption of one of
the most fascinating characters in American history, Aimee Semple McPherson.
But it is much more than that. It is also the story of how Americans came to
embrace a thoroughly modern form of evangelicalism that had its roots in
McPherson's innovations and concerns, one that has flourished to this day.
Indeed, the tensions and controversies that characterized McPherson's world
have come to define faith and politics in the twenty-first-century United
States.

Rasa: Even Richard Rossi, whom I like and respect, did not do justice to
your story because he thought you had a conflict between the flesh and
spirit, in falling in love with the whoremaster after you had your
breakdown, etc., and he portrayed it that way in his movie. I am pretty mad
about that.
AIMEE: WHAT DO YOU EXPECT, HE'S A MAN. ONLY YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU, WHO
ARE ONE WITH GOD, COULD REALLY SEE IT MY WAY. UNLESS A PERSON IS THERE,
THEY PROJECT THEIR OWN IDEAS AND OPINIONS AND THEIR OWN DESIRES ONTO ME.
Rasa: What should I do to make sure that my life is portrayed properly
while I am living and after I'm dead. I can see by your example they will
make mincemeat out of my life. If they find fault with you, they will
surely skewer me over the coals, as they are now, even as I live, and I
expect from some quarters it will get worse after I die. They have all my
adult media work to use against me, while they had practically nothing
against you except people's imaginations.
AIMEE: THIS IS YOUR CROSS, SO BEAR IT WELL. SPEAK UP FOR THE WOMEN IN THE
TRADE, THEY NEED REPRESENTATION. ALTHOUGH THEY WILL TRY AND USE IT AGAINST
YOU, IT WILL HELP MANY, WHEN THEY SEE THAT A WOMAN IN THE TRADE WAS SO CLOSE
TO GOD AND DID SO MANY GOOD THINGS, AND WHEN YOU START YOUR HEALINGS, I WILL

Renee Montagne talks to the author about the woman who became a symbol for
religious manipulation and extravagance.
RASA: IT WAS SHE WHO WAS MANIPULATED, IT WAS SHE WHO WAS USED AND EXPLOITED
BY THE MEDIA AND BY THOSE WHO WANTED TO BE HEALED BUT GAVE NOTHING IN
RETURN, NOT EVEN RECOGNITION TO HER. SHE RECEIVED MEAGERLY FOR WHAT SHE
GAVE, AND WAS GREATLY PERSECUTED. THIS IS NOW CONTINUING IN THIS DEPLORABLE
BOOK AND BY THE PBS DOCUDRAMA, AND NOW SHE IS BLAMED FOR THINGS SHE NEVER
DID. ALL SHE DID WAS PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS OUT HIS HEALING POWER, YET
SHE IS BEING BLAMED FOR THIS? SHE MANIPULATED NO ONE, SHE WAS NOT
EXTRAVAGANT, SHE GAVE ASKING NOTHING IN RETURN, HER EXTRAVAGANCE WAS IN
DOING GOD'S WILL AND SPENDING ALL HER MONEY ON GOD'S MISSION.

On a brisk fall evening in 1934, six thousand people jammed into the exotic
Shrine Auditorium, the largest and poshest theater in Los Angeles. The
crowds on this particular night had come to witness the only showing of a
spectacular religious pageant like nothing they had ever seen before. At
close to 9:00 p.m., the orchestra came to life, launching into a rendition
of patriotic songs. The curtains swung open and the show began. America's
"Pilgrim Fathers" stepped onto the stage to rousing applause. They reenacted
the landing of the Mayflower at Plymouth Rock and proclaimed the new
nation's foundation on conservative Christian ideals. The Founding Fathers
appeared next. They drew up the U.S. Constitution, a document "conceived in
prayer and executed by Christian gentlemen." The third scene featured
Abraham Lincoln on his knees in prayer, "seeking guidance of his God in the
times of national stress." Without a doubt, the Protestant God had blessed
the United States.
This harmonious vision of the United States' Christian past began to
disintegrate in the next few scenes, however, as subsequent generations of
Americans who spent too much time trying to be "modern" forgot "that God
founded this nation." They removed the Bible from schools, embraced the
concept of biological evolution, and, "determined to blot out the God who
had led and nurtured the United States," turned away from the "old-time"
religion. At this point in the spectacle the orchestra fell silent and a
hush stole over the capacity crowd. The audience tensed, as a sinister
villain, an atheist and a communist, appeared on the stage. He began his
diabolical work by tiptoeing up to an oversized dollar bill and, using a
hammer and chisel, chipped away the words "In God We Trust." Then he sneaked
over to a massive poster featuring the lines of the national anthem. He
reached down, grabbed a brush, and began splattering red paint across all
references to God. The stunned audience "gasped in horror" as the scoundrel
obliterated the ideas that had been "the very blood and body of our
nation-the very foundation upon which it has stood through the years."
RASA: IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THE AUTHOR IS SNEERING, LAUGHING AT THIS
DISPLAY OF LOVE FOR GOD AND COUNTRY. ALTHOUGH I HAVE DISAGREEMENTS WITH
RELIGION IN THE FORM OF PATRIARCHY AND MALE DOMINATION, THESE IDEALS,
EXAMINED HERE, ARE NOBLE AND RIGHTEOUS. SURELY YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE GOD AND
LOVE INSTEAD OF ATHEIST COMMUNISM AND MATERIALISM!
But he wasn't done yet. The curtains opened again for the climactic final
scene, revealing the villain's ultimate target-the United States Capitol.
Above the Capitol building flew an American flag, while below it stood the
"sturdy foundation stones" of "government, order, faith, and home." Miss
America was supposed to be protecting these cherished institutions, but she
had fallen asleep on the Capitol steps. The fiendish burglar laughed
disdainfully as he snatched the foundations of the nation right out from
under her. Then he replaced the flag with the red banner of communism. Just
when it appeared that the rogue had completely undermined the United States,
onto the stage stepped a stunning woman dressed entirely in white-Aimee
Semple McPherson. The crowd went wild, cheering and screaming for the
radiant cultural icon who had created this show.
McPherson smiled and bowed. Then, in her high-pitched, nasal, singsong
voice,
RASA: OH, HOW SUTTON WAXES ROUGHSHOD OVER AIMEE. SHE HAD WON MANY
ELOCUTION AND DEBATING AWARDS AND WAS FAMOUS FOR BEING ELOQUENT. LISTENING
TO THE OLD TAPES AND MOVIES YOU CAN HEAR A BEAUTIFUL, MELODIOUS VOICE,
FILLED WITH LOVE, JOY AND ENERGY, SAYING WONDERFUL THINGS.
strained by decades of preaching without amplification,
RASA: NOT STRAINED AT ALL, I HEARD NO STRAIN AT ANY TIME.
she shouted, "America! Awake! The enemy is at your gates! They have
penetrated your walls! America! You are in danger! An enemy power is
penetrating your strongholds! There is death in their hands-the bombs of
atheism and of communism and of anarchy! America! Awake! Defend your own!"
RASA: TO THOSE WHO THINK THIS SOUNDS NAIIVE, IT IS NEVER A WASTE TO WARN
THE PEOPLE ABOUT ATHEISM, LACK OF LOVE AND RESPECT FOR WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN
US. APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE FOR ALL THAT WE HAVE ARE IN ORDER, AND
ALTHOUGH OUR COUNTRY, LIKE ALL COUNTRIES, IS FLAWED, IT COULD BE WORSE. LOOK
AT THE THIRD WORLD, LOOK AT CHINA AND INDIA, THE POVERTY, THE LACK OF HUMAN
RIGHTS, THE KILLING OF 40 MILLION GIRL BABIES IN INDIA AND 40 MILLION MORE
IN CHINA.
Responding to her cry, Uncle Sam jumped onto the stage. He sprinted forward
and grabbed the villain, issuing him a ticket back home-"a ticket back to
Red Russia, a ticket that will take him to the lands where the Stars and
Stripes do not wave." At the end of the scene, McPherson approached the
Capitol. With the entire audience cheering her on, she removed the
subversive's flag and returned Old Glory to its position atop the dome. The
crowd again erupted into applause. Thanks to McPherson and Uncle Sam, the
Christian foundations of the nation were safe once more.

Dazzling religious theatrics and a penchant for publicity
RASA: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY PENCHANT? I HAVE THIS, AS I CONTACT THE MEDIA,
BUT MZ MCPHERSON DID NOT CONTACT THE MEDIA, THEY HOUNDED HER AND WROTE LIES
ABOUT HER BECAUSE SHE SOLD PAPERS, SHE MADE NEWS. NEWSREELS ALSO.
made McPherson one of the most famous American personalities of the interwar
years. The first religious celebrity of the mass media era, she mastered
print, radio, and film for use in her evangelical mission.
RASA: THAT, SHE DID. SHE USED ALL MEDIA FOR THE LORD. FIRST, HER CAR WAS
A VEHICLE AS FEW PEOPLE HAD THEM, AND IT HAD REVIVAL SLOGANS WRITTEN ALL
OVER IT. WITH A WOMAN PREACHER DRIVING THIS BIG CAR, SHE ATTRACTED A CROWD.
BUT THAT WASN'T ALL. SHE HAD A MANUAL TYPEWRITER WITH HER, ON THE ROAD,
WHERE SHE CRANKED OUT A REGULAR NEWSLETTER THAT REACHED THOUSANDS! ALL THIS
WHILE TOWING TWO LITTLE KIDS WITH HER, WITH NOT A GREAT DEAL OF HELP, BUT
SOME. FIRST HER HUSBAND HAROLD (WHO MANAGED THE TENT AMONG OTHER THINGS)
AND WHEN HE QUIT, HER MOM TRAVELLED WITH HER. (HER MOM, WHO GOT MARRIED TO
AN OVER 50 MAN AT 15, WAS NOT MUCH OLDER THAN AIMEE, AND LATER, TRIED TO
TAKE AIMEE'S CHURCH AWAY FROM HER, AND DID ALIENATE THE AFFECTION OF AIMEE'S
DAUGHTER AWAY.)
Her integration of the latest media tools with a conservative creed
established precedents for the twentieth century's most popular ministers,
from Billy Graham to Oral Roberts to Pat Robertson. Possibly more
significant, she brought conservative Protestantism back from the margins to
the mainstream of American culture, by arguing that Christians had an
obligation to fight for the issues they believed in and boldly proclaiming
that patriotism and faith were inseparable.
RASA: WHAT ARE YOU SAYING HERE, THAT ONE CANNOT LOVE THEIR COUNTRY AND
THEIR FAITH AT THE SAME TIME? ONE CAN APPRECIATE ONE'S COUNTRY, WITH ITS
FLAWS, AND EVEN BE A LOYAL DISSIDENT, FIGHTING FOR REFORM, AND ONE CAN
CERTAINLY BELIEVE OUR COUNTRY IS UNDER GOD AT THE SAME TIME...WHY IS THIS
WRONG?
Contemporary evangelical politicians from local school board members to
President George W. Bush are indebted to McPherson for convincing the
faithful that their citizenship in heaven did not nullify their citizenship
on earth, but rather that they should work for a more Christian nation.
RASA: AGAIN I SENSE THE SNEER OF SUTTON. TO COMPARE AIMEE TO BUSH AND OTHER
HYPOCRITES IS LIKE SAYING SHE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM, SHE WASN'T LIKE THEM
AT ALL, SHE WAS 100% HONEST ABOUT GOD AND LOVE.
THE VALUES OF GOOD CHRISTIANS ARE THE VALUES OF GOOD JEWS, MUSLIMS, HINDUS,
CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS, UNITY, WICCA, MOTHERGOD AND ALL THE REST. WHOM DO YOU
WANT TO LEAD THE COUNTRY AND WORLD, THOSE WHO HAVE NO SPIRITUAL OR RELIGIOUS
AFFILIATION NOR FAITH? WHAT DO YOU WANT AT THE HEAD OF THE COUNTRY,
MATERIALISTS AND ATHEISTS? IS THAT WHO YOU CAN TRUST?
LOOK, LET'S FACE IT, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PAT ROBERTSON AND RASA
VON WERDER, ALTHOUGH BOTH ARE RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL. PAT ROBERTSON
BELIEVES IN ONE RELIGION, ONE WAY OF FAITH, AND NO OTHER WAY, AND THIS WAY
SHOULD TAKE OVER OUR COUNTRY. BUT RASA VON WERDER BELIEVES IN A MOTHERGOD
WHO LOVES ALL, AND ALL THOSE WHO ARE TRUE CHRISTIANS DO NOT JUDGE AND
CONDEMN OTHER FAITHS, THEY, LIKE JESUS WITH THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD
SAMARITAN, LOVE ALL PEOPLE, ALL PEOPLE ARE GOD'S CHILDREN AND SHOULD BE
RESPECTED AND CARED FOR.
Finally, with her extraordinary religious fervor and theatricality,
McPherson helped shape one of the twentieth century's most explosive
religious movements-evangelicalism. And she did it, of all places, from just
outside Hollywood.
McPherson's religious revival caught the nation off guard. With rapid
urbanization, the discovery of new technologies, the perfecting of powerful
forms of mass media, the rise of the modern university system, and the
growth of a celebrity-centered culture, many Americans in the early
twentieth century predicted the extinction of classic evangelicalism. Yet
from her location in the burgeoning show business capital of the world,
McPherson changed the way American religion is practiced. She combined the
old-time faith, show biz sensibilities, marketing savvy, and passionate
Americanism to revive a seemingly dead movement.
RASA: I DON'T KNOW WHY HE CALLS IT SEEMINGLY DEAD. PENTOCOSTALS, THOSE WHO
BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, WERE ABUNDANT IN THIS ERA, AND TRAVELLED THE
UNITED STATES PREACHING AND DOING HEALINGS. THIS DID NOT DIE OUT UNTIL
KATHRYN KUHLMAN IN THE 70'S, BUT I AM PLANNING TO REVIVE IT.
Rather than wither away, evangelicalism, with its careful integration of
cutting-edge technology, American patriotism, and social conservatism, has
become one of the most influential forces in U.S. history.
Although many men and women from a variety of different traditions
contributed to the regeneration of evangelicalism, none compared with
McPherson. As the most famous minister in America during the interwar years,
she became the personification of the old-time religion, by transforming a
conservative religious creed into something as exciting as a swashbuckling
Hollywood adventure. Yet the rapid expansion of this culturally attuned
faith was not without its pitfalls, for McPherson constantly blurred the
boundary between the sacred and the profane. Many critics despised the
seeming irreverence of combining show business with an ancient creed.
RASA: THEY WERE JUST JEALOUS.
Others questioned the creation of all-powerful celebrity preachers who
marketed little more than their own personalities to the masses.
RASA: THAT WAS NOT AIMEE, SHE NEVER CLAIMED ANYTHING BUT JESUS CHRIST AS
THE POWER AND GAVE HIM ALL THE GLORY.
Still others who decried the mixing of faith and politics warned that the
First Amendment was under siege.
RASA: SHE WAS NOTHING LIKE PAT ROBERTSON, SHE LOVED EVERYONE AND GAVE FOOD
TO EVERYONE OF ALL FAITHS. YOU JUST HAD TO CALL HER CHURCH AND ASK FOR FOOD
AND NO QUESTIONS, A BOX WAS SENT TO YOUR HOUSE, WHEREAS PAT ROBERTSON IS A
BIG-TIME BUSINESSMAN WHO OWNS GOLD MINES IN AFRICA USING CHEAP LABOR, AND
USES HIS MONEY TO BANKROLL HIS MINISTRY WITH STRONG POLITICAL AMBITIONS.
AIMEE NEVER WANTED TO BE A POLITICIAN OR BIG SHOT POLITICAL LEADER, SHE JUST
WANTED TO FOLLOW THE WILL OF GOD, GET PEOPLE SAVED, HEALED AND FED.
And there was an even darker side to this evangelical culture, fueled by
McPherson and her allies' constant search for signs of the impending rise of
the Antichrist. Like the Puritans before them, they tended to interpret
daily events within the framework of a continuous cosmic struggle between
good and evil. Because they never knew when and where the devil might
strike, they remained very suspicious of "outsiders." Regardless of how
successful such believers became, they saw themselves as a besieged
minority, a faithful remnant, charged with holding back the forces of the
apocalypse. This ideological commitment, which kept them constantly on the
defensive,
RASA: THE WORLD IS 'THE CHURCH MILITANT,' A PLACE OF THE BATTLE OF GOOD VS.
EVIL, AND THE DEVIL DOES GO ABOUT 'LIKE A ROARING LION SEEKING WHOM HE MAY
DEVOUR' SO SHE WAS RIGHT. THESE DEMONS ARE IN HIGH PLACES, INCLUDING OUR
AND ALL GOVERNMENT, BIG BUSINESS, BIG CHURCHES AND ALL PLACES OF INFLUENCE,
AND THESE ARE MOSTLY PATRIARCHAL FORCES. HERE EVIL HAS SOLIDIFIED ITS CLAWS
IN DISCRIMINATION, EXPLOITATION, LYING, STEALING AND KILLING. WE LIVE IN A
WICKED WAR ECONOMY WHICH WANTS OVERPOPULATION IN ORDER TOHAVE A POWERFUL
MILITARY AND LOTS OF BODIES TO SEND OFF TO WAR, SO YES, WE DO HAVE TO LOOK
OUT FOR THE INTERESTS OF GOD AND LOVE. HERE SUTTON IS MAKING AIMEE SOUND
LIKE A PARANOID WEIRDO, BUT SHE WAS A LOGICAL AND EFFECTIVE WARRIOR FOR GOD.
fueled a nativist tendency that occasionally surfaced in damaging ways.
RASA: HE SHOULD EXPLAIN WHAT HE MEANS BY DAMAGING WAYS.
But the greatest controversy affecting McPherson centered not on her
religious innovations or her sporadic xenophobia but on her personal life.
When, at the peak of her fame, she became embroiled in what appeared to be a
major sex scandal, she nearly landed in jail. She discovered that the same
publicity tools that had helped her create a religious empire could just as
easily destroy her. Ultimately, however, she rebounded from the controversy
and returned to the national spotlight during World War II to solidify the
marriage between evangelicalism and patriotic politics.
On one level this is the story of the rise, fall, and redemption of one of
the most fascinating characters in American history, Aimee Semple McPherson.
But it is much more than that. It is also the story of how Americans came to
embrace a thoroughly modern form of evangelicalism that had its roots in
McPherson's innovations and concerns, one that has flourished to this day.
Indeed, the tensions and controversies that characterized McPherson's world
have come to define faith and politics in the twenty-first-century United
States.

Rasa: Even Richard Rossi, whom I like and respect, did not do justice to
your story because he thought you had a conflict between the flesh and
spirit, in falling in love with the whoremaster after you had your
breakdown, etc., and he portrayed it that way in his movie. I am pretty mad
about that.
AIMEE: WHAT DO YOU EXPECT, HE'S A MAN. ONLY YOU AND OTHERS LIKE YOU, WHO
ARE ONE WITH GOD, COULD REALLY SEE IT MY WAY. UNLESS A PERSON IS THERE,
THEY PROJECT THEIR OWN IDEAS AND OPINIONS AND THEIR OWN DESIRES ONTO ME.
Rasa: What should I do to make sure that my life is portrayed properly
while I am living and after I'm dead. I can see by your example they will
make mincemeat out of my life. If they find fault with you, they will
surely skewer me over the coals, as they are now, even as I live, and I
expect from some quarters it will get worse after I die. They have all my
adult media work to use against me, while they had practically nothing
against you except people's imaginations.
AIMEE: THIS IS YOUR CROSS, SO BEAR IT WELL. SPEAK UP FOR THE WOMEN IN THE
TRADE, THEY NEED REPRESENTATION. ALTHOUGH THEY WILL TRY AND USE IT AGAINST
YOU, IT WILL HELP MANY, WHEN THEY SEE THAT A WOMAN IN THE TRADE WAS SO CLOSE
TO GOD AND DID SO MANY GOOD THINGS, AND WHEN YOU START YOUR HEALINGS, I WILL
BE WITH YOU AND JESUS WILL WORK THROUGH YOU. YOU WILL LEAVE MUCH MORE
FAITH-BASED WORK BEFORE YOU DIE THAN YOU ALREADY HAVE, SO IT WILL RUN IN

believe your kidnapping, it all makes sense, they didn't even try to find
the shack where you were held captive, they did not even examine the ransom
notes - they just didn't try at all.
AIMEE: RASA, DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME, WORRY ABOUT YOURSELF. I DO APPRECIATE
YOU STICKING UP FOR ME, BUT I WOULD RATHER STICK UP FORYOU. I WILL BE WITH
YOU IN SPIRIT. FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE, FIGHT FOR YOUR MINISTRY, IT IS

closeness on a regular basis seems possible only with the internet. Perhaps

Windsor, New York, 13865, and IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD THE DOLLAR write me and
tell me, asking me to SEND THE POWER OF THE ANOINTING NEVERTHELESS. If you
do not request the anointing monthly, it might get cut off, (unless you have
donated properly in the past) and this request insures you that you will
continue receiving my Power. I will no longer allow my devotees to take
this Anointing for granted, believing that they have to do NOTHING and can
ask me for favors while doing NOTHING for myself and the church. Obviously,
one dollar is a pittance, a small amount and a token. But since ALL OF YOU
HAD EXCUSES WHEN I ASKED FOR DECENT CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE PAST, and most of
you SIMPLY IGNORED ME FOR A LONG TIME NOT WANTING TO DONATE, I have changed
the conditions so that NO ONE WHO IS POOR CAN SAY THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO
DONATE, so here it is, the requirement to receive my power. Fulfillment of
this requirement will keep you in good standing and lack of fulfillment may
