SPIRITUAL PLEASURE IS GOOD!

DEAREST ASHANKAH,
MY HEART IS WITH YOU. BUT WITH ALL GOOD THINGS, WHEN WE CREATE THEM,
WE HOPE AND WISH OTHERS WILL BENEFIT FROM THEM. IF ONE DECORATES A
CHRISTMAS TREE WITH BAUBLES AND LIGHTS, AND THEN PUTS GIFTS UNDERNEATH
FOR EVERYONE, ONE HOPES THEY WILL ENJOY THE TREE AND RECEIVE THE GIFTS.
HOW COULD YOU KNOW IF THEY RECEIVED ANYTHING UNLESS THE HOLY SPIRIT
TELLS YOU OR IF THEY TELL YOU?
MUCH OF MY MINISTRY IS HIDDEN WHERE I CANNOT SEE OR HEAR THE
RECIPIENTS OF GRACE. TO WIT:
GOD SHOWS ME IN DREAMS WHICH SOULS ARE GOING TO HELL. I BAPTISE
(INITIATE) THESE PERSONS (USUALLY FRIENDS AND FAMILY) BY PROXY. PUT
THEIR NAMES ON A PIECE OF PAPER, GIVE THEM SAINTS AS GUARDIANS, AND
TAKE PLAIN WATER AND PRONOUNCE THE OFFICIAL BAPTISM OVER THEM.
WHEN I AM FINISHED THE SAME PERSONS APPEAR TO ME IN A DREAM. GOD SHOWS
ME WHICH ONES RECEIVED THE GRACE, AND THOSE WHO REFUSED IT. (USUALLY 2
OUT OF 3 RECEIVE IT AND ARE SAVED) IN THIS WAY, THE HOLY SPIRIT SHOWS
ME THE FRUITS OF MY ACTIONS.
ON A SIMILAR BENT, GOD SHOWS ME SOULS IN PURGATORY WHO ARE REALLY
SUFFERING, AS NO ONE REMEMBERS THEM OR PRAYS FOR THEM. THEY ARE IN
MISERABLE SITUATIONS. GOD ASKS ME IF I WOULD LIKE TO HELP THEM. I
ALWAYS SAY YES. IN DAYS, WEEKS AND MONTHS OR EVEN YEARS, THEY APPEAR
TO ME EACH TIME MORE BEAUTIFUL (IN DREAMS) UNTIL THAT FINAL WONDERFUL
DAY WHEN THEY ASCEND INTO ETERNITY.
THAT GREAT DAY DIFFERENT THINGS HAPPEN ACCORDING TO THE SITUATION.
SOME SHARE A BIG FEAST WITH ME. OTHERS APPEAR IN FEMININE GARB AS
'BRIDES OF CHRIST.' ONE HUGGED ME AND THREW GOLD DUST ALL OVER MY
YARD. THERE IS ALL KINDS OF REJOICING.
THERE IS GREAT PLEASURE IN SEEING THE RESULT OF ONE'S SPIRITUAL
ACTIONS OF LOVE. THIS PLEASURE SPURS ONE ON AND MAKES ONE DO MORE
SACRIFICES AND PRAYERS. SEEING THE RESULT IS BENEFICIAL.
I KNOW THERE IS A SCHOOL OF THOUGHT WHERE WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO ENJOY
FRUITS OR BENEFITS OF OUR ACTIONS, ETC. THEY TEACH THIS BOTH IN YOGA
AND IN CHRSTIANITY. THERE ARE ALL SORTS OF WARNINGS AGAINST IT. HERE
IS THE POINT:
YOU DO NOT DO THIS WORK FOR THE REWARD, PLEASURE OR FRUIT OF IT, YOU
DO IT FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS AND THE GOOD OF YOUR OWN SOUL. BUT BEING
HUMAN, THE PLEASURE OF THE TOUCH OF GOD SPURS US ON. THE PRESENCE,
TOUCH AND FEEL OF GOD IS SO BEAUTIFUL, SO POWERFUL, SO ECSTATIC, THAT
THIS PLEASURE MAKES THE PLEASURES OF THE WORLD LOOK LIKE NOTHING. AND
SO, THE PLEASURE OF IT KEEPS US ON THE RIGHT PATH. IF THE PATH TO GOD
WAS ALL UGLINESS AND PAIN ALL THE TIME, HOW COULD WE BEAR IT? IT IS BY
THIS SPIRITUAL PLEASURE THAT GOD COMFORTS US AND INSPIRES US.
AND SO YES, WHEN PEOPLE SAY THEY READ THE POSTS AND ENJOYED THEM AND
GOT SOMETHING OUT OF THEM IT GIVES US PLEASURE. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?

Dear Pandian Yogi,

The point I made saying, `majority of the group
doesn't participate in discussion' was in a particular
context while replying to Rasa yogi's email. Good to
see that you didn't take it otherwise.

As far as expecting anybody to respond or participate
at this e-group is concerned it goes against the
teachings of spirituality. Since we are discussing
this topic let me give you a quick background of
starting this yahoo group.

Towards the end of 2004 I was on bench (without any
project on my job). For a change I got good amount of
time from my otherwise busy routine. So, I created
this yahoo group AYSRS and started posting messages.

I do a lot of reading of spiritual books and keep
marking important portions. As everyone knows that
reading an entire book takes lot of time and instead
if someone highlighted important portions then it
becomes very easy for other people to read only those.
This was my main intention behind started AYSRS. I
post extracts from the scriptures so that it becomes
easy for people to read those.

Thus, if anybody participates at AYSRS than it's a
bonus. However, there shouldn't be any expectation to
that effect.

Another, most importantly, I am myself subscribed to
about 8 or 10 other yahoo groups and I never post any
message to most of that or hardly write in 1 or 2
groups.

One of the best messages of Gita is, `action is in our
hands, but fruits of our actions are not in our
hands'. Writing at yahoo groups is our task, whether
anybody responds to that; benefits or not is not for
us to think'.
